What Taru brings to the table
Taru’s journey into B2B SaaS started with a bit of luck and great timing. While writing her master’s thesis, she joined RELEX, then a little-known software company that became Finland’s largest SaaS success story with $5Bn valuation. As it scaled, she honed her skills across brand, digital, events and sales enablement. Later at Boksi, a VC-backed martech startup, she built the marketing function from scratch and saw firsthand what it means to scale a seed-stage company.
At Vendep, Taru leads platform and marketing. She drives how Vendep supports founders beyond capital by building communities, sharing practical know-how and creating connections through initiatives like SaaS Camp and Portfolio Retreat. She also shapes how Vendep shows up in the world through brand, content and events.

Taru’s default is to jump in and help. She works alongside founders and their teams to share knowledge, build connections and create communities that make scaling easier. Whether it’s through founder roundtables, tactical playbooks or simply being one quick WhatsApp message away, she’s there to help teams learn faster and grow smarter.
With her hands-on marketing background, Taru’s aim is simple: to give founders practical support and momentum beyond just capital, so early teams can turn into thriving companies.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
"Luck favors the prepared". Success often needs a bit of luck (or sometimes a lot) but by being skilled and prepared, you’re ready to grab the opportunity when it shows up.
What’s your favorite way to disconnect or recharge?
Calling CrossFit ‘recharging’ might be a stretch, but it’s the best way I know to switch off my brain after a workday. That post-workout feeling of strength and capability is hard to beat.
If you weren’t in VC, what would you be doing?
Most likely on the other side – building a startup!
