What Samuli brings to the table
Before stepping into venture, Samuli was part of a hypergrowth startup Swappie which was intense, rewarding, often chaotic in the best way. After experiencing what it takes to raise VC rounds from the other side of the table, he grew curious about the investor’s role.
Meeting ambitious founders, hearing bold ideas, and helping turn them into reality quickly made it clear he’d found the right path. At Vendep, he spends his time listening to pitches, supporting portfolio companies, and digging into market trends and benchmarks, with a sharp focus on vertical SaaS and the shifts driven by AI.

Samuli is a hands-on sparring partner. He likes to dig into materials, challenge assumptions, and help make tough decisions simpler through data. Whether it’s putting out fires or just making sense of the unclear, he’s there to work it through.

What’s your favorite way to disconnect or recharge?
Golf, sauna, late-night walk with dog or gaming session. Basically anything where the distractions are far away and my brain is either fully focused or completely off.
What’s your most-used app (besides Slack and email)?
Definitely Youtube for game highlights when NHL season is on. During the offseason, It´s mostly Spotify for music and podcasts.
If you weren’t in VC, what would you be doing?
Most likely building something, either as a founder or working in an early-stage company where things move fast and most things have not been figured out yet.
