Complir has raised an $11 million seed round led by General Catalyst, with participation from True and follow-on from Vendep, alongside angel investors and specialist industry funds.
Complir is building AI infrastructure for product compliance. The platform automates the work that decides whether a product can legally be sold in a given market: risk assessments, labelling, testing requirements, declarations of conformity and technical files.
It monitors regulatory change down to the individual SKU, reassesses affected products automatically, and traces every flag back to its source.
When we invested at pre-seed, Complir was working with one development partner and a clear thesis about where compliance was heading.
Since then the team has completed Y Combinator's Spring 2026 batch, added enterprise customers including Konges Sløjd, Matas Group and COOP Trading alongside Flying Tiger, and now manages compliance for more than 100,000 products a month.
This round signals that product compliance is being read as infrastructure rather than as a niche software category. Physical goods account for a quarter of European GDP, and almost all of that trade still moves through manual, spreadsheet driven compliance work.
The timing is not accidental. GPSR is in force, the Digital Product Passport is coming, and enforcement has sharpened considerably.
Regulation written in exhaustive, codified detail happens to be the kind of text large language models handle well, which is what makes the problem solvable now.
We backed Gustav, Tine and Marc at pre-seed because they understood the compliance workflow better than most people inside their customers' organisations. Nine months of watching them execute has only sharpened that view, which is why we are doubling down. 🔥🔥
